
When Wētā Coffee was just getting started 12 years ago, we posted our logo brief on Design Crowd. Dozens of designs came back, and we picked seven to put to our friends and family as a focus group.
Their favourites? Safe, café-style logos.
Ours? The one almost nobody wanted.
So what did we do? We went with our gut and ignored the votes. Risky? Absolutely. Worth it? 100%.
That logo came from Trudi in Australia, who studied the native wētāpunga to create something authentic and full of character. She later helped bring the rest of our brand to life too.
That decision sums up Wētā Coffee: bold, a little different, and always true to our vision. 😊
